On average, if a piston (cylindrical) compressor has a service life of 2\u20133 years, a screw compressor can last 10\u201312 years. This difference is determined by their operating principles.<\/a>      <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In what situations would a piston (reciprocating) air compressor not be suitable?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main difference between a screw compressor and a piston (cylindrical) compressor lies in their fundamentally different operating modes. A piston compressor operates intermittently (with stops), which is determined by its design, whereas a screw compressor operates on a continuous cycle, providing compressed air 24 hours a day without interruption.<br\/><br\/>This clearly shows that in facilities where a constant and uninterrupted air supply is required, the choice should be a screw compressor.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Compressor price, installation, and noise level.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we consider compressors with the same capacity, a piston (cylindrical) compressor is always 20\u201340% cheaper than a screw air compressor.<br\/><br\/>However, if you choose a high-capacity piston compressor, you must take into account its high vibration and noise levels. This often requires building a separate facility and\/or finding a location with a strong foundation, which increases costs.<br\/><br\/>A screw air compressor is equipped with rubber mounts that reduce vibration, and it only requires a flat surface for installation. Its soundproof enclosure significantly reduces noise, making it possible to place the compressor in the same building where employees are working.<br\/><br\/>It is also important to note that since a screw compressor can be installed very close to air-powered equipment, it reduces costs associated with constructing a separate building and installing long pneumatic piping networks.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important detail \u2013 electricity consumption (cost).<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electricity consumption is a very important factor.
