VFD Drives

Frequency control devices (Frequency Inverters/VFDs) control the rotation speed and supply voltage of an electric motor. They convert fixed-frequency current into variable frequency, allowing the motor to operate at different speeds.

Why Frequency Converters?

Frequency converters (VFDs) allow companies to precisely control motor speed and energy consumption, which increases system efficiency and reduces energy costs. Their use makes it possible to protect equipment from sudden loads, significantly extending the service life of motors and mechanical parts. Frequency converters also reduce excess energy consumption at startup, improve process control, and increase the overall productivity of your facility.

IESCO Offers:

The lineup includes the VLT® series (HVAC FC 102, AQUA FC 202, AutomationDrive FC 302) and the new-generation iC2 / iC7 platforms.

Advantages:

  • Energy cost reduction of up to 30–50%
  • Motor load optimization
  • Soft start and stop — reduced mechanical damage
  • Integrated PLC functions and control logic
  • Communication via MODBUS / PROFIBUS / BACnet

INOVANCE Frequency Inverters (China)

INOVANCE is the #1 industrial automation brand in China in the low-voltage frequency inverter segment and ranks among the world’s top five manufacturers. The company’s inverters drive millions of machines worldwide — modern technology at a competitive price.

In addition to the standard series, IESCO also offers INOVANCE’s medium-voltage (MV) frequency converters — for powerful motors in the 3.3/6/10 kV class.

Advantages:

  • Best price/quality ratio for mass industrial applications
  • Energy savings on variable-load mechanisms (pumps, fans, compressors)
  • Simple programming and quick commissioning
  • Full range — from compact units to medium-voltage (MV) systems
  • Communication via Modbus / CANopen / PROFINET

VFD Drives FAQ

What size VFD do I need for my motor?

The basic rule: the VFD's rated current must exceed the motor's rated current; for heavy-starting machinery (e.g. a fully loaded conveyor) we go one size up. We will do the exact selection for you free of charge.

Will a VFD work with an old motor?

In most cases yes — standard asynchronous motors work well with a VFD. On older motors we check the insulation condition and add a du/dt or sine filter where needed.

How much does a VFD actually save?

On variable-load equipment (fans, pumps, compressors) typically 20-35%, with a payback of 6-18 months. Calculate your exact figure with our free calculator or the motor starting simulator.

Do you also handle installation and commissioning?

Yes — delivery, installation, parameter setup and ongoing service in one place. We are an authorized Danfoss partner.
