Description

Screw compressor oil is one of the most crucial components for the smooth, efficient, and long-term operation of a compressor. Using high-quality and correctly selected oil can extend the lifespan of the compressor block (the main working mechanism) to over 25 years.

How often should the oil in a compressor be changed?

Typically, an oil change is recommended every 2,000 hours. However, this interval may vary depending on the working environment, ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 hours.

If the compressor operates in a clean environment (e.g., in meat processing or pharmaceutical plants), the oil change interval can be extended to 3,000-4,000 hours. In conditions with high dust levels (e.g., cement factories, woodworking shops, and other heavy industries), an oil change is recommended after 1,000 hours.

After the initial service, our experienced engineers assess the compressor’s condition and recommend an optimal oil change schedule.

All changes and revisions to service intervals are made in agreement with the customer.

Synthetic Oil for Screw Compressors

There are special synthetic screw compressor oils with an operating life of up to 8,000 hours. However, their use is advisable only in ideally clean conditions. In dusty environments, there is a high risk that the air filter may fail to retain dust particles, which, upon entering the oil, can cause damage to the compressor block.

Therefore, when using high-tech synthetic oil, it is essential to constantly monitor and frequently inspect the condition of the air filters.
