One of the largest-scale oxygen generator plant projects was implemented in Georgia, within which the following were installed:
Oxygen generator
Oil-free compressor
Air dryer
Air filtration system
Carbon tower
Aluminum piping
Air and oxygen tanks
Automatic oxygen switch panel
The challenge
In a hospital, oxygen is a life-critical resource: intensive care, operating theatres, wards. Supplying it from cylinders means constant logistics, storage of high-pressure cylinders, and the risk of running out at peak load. The pandemic made that risk unmistakably clear.
One of Georgia’s largest oxygen generator projects was carried out at the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, with the goal of making the clinic fully self-sufficient in oxygen.
The solution — a complete medical oxygen system
- Oxygen generator
- Screw air compressor
- Oil-free compressor
- Air dryer
- Air filtration system
- Activated carbon tower
- Aluminium pipework
- Air and oxygen receivers
- Automatic oxygen changeover panel
Why three elements in particular
The oil-free compressor. Medical gas reaches the patient directly, so oil vapour in the air path is unacceptable. An oil-free machine eliminates that risk by design rather than by filtration.
The activated carbon tower. A column of activated carbon captures hydrocarbons and odours that filters can miss, because those contaminants are in the gas phase. For medical oxygen this is a mandatory stage.
The automatic changeover panel. It ensures that when the generator stops for maintenance, the system switches automatically to the backup source. This is the element that turns equipment into hospital infrastructure.
The result
The clinic has an autonomous, uninterrupted oxygen source with its own air preparation and a backup line, independent of cylinder delivery schedules.
