Large-scale project of IESCO Ltd in Tbilisi!
IESco, together with the Jewish company “Techno Ave”, has successfully completed the project at the factory for the production of aviation details under the joint Israeli-Georgian project in the settlement of Alekseevka!
01.10.2017-30.03.2018 – Project Cyclone – for the aircraft manufacturer under construction on the territory of the airport
3 EKOMAK EKO200 Screw Compressors
3 EKOMAK EKO45 Screw Compressors
2 EKOMAK EKO30 DVST Screw Compressors
PNEUMATECH (Atlas Copco) 540 m3/hr Nitrogen Generator
3 pcs 25000 liter Air Vessels
4 BOGE air boosters
PARKER – Air Dryers and Line Filters
Design, installation, startup works, piping, electronic control and automation SIEMENS PLC 1500
The challenge
In the Alekseevka district of Tbilisi, a plant producing aircraft parts was built as a joint Israeli-Georgian project. Aerospace manufacturing is among the most demanding environments there is: compressed air and nitrogen are part of the process itself, and tolerances are minimal.
IESCO delivered the project together with the Israeli company Techno Aves, from 01.10.2017 to 30.03.2018.
The solution — project “Cyclone”
- EKOMAK EKO200 screw compressors — 3 units
- EKOMAK EKO45 screw compressors — 3 units
- EKOMAK EKO30 DVST screw compressors — 2 units
- PNEUMATECH (Atlas Copco) 540 m³/h nitrogen generators — 3 units
- Air receiver — 25,000 litres
- BOGE air boosters — 4 units
- PARKER air dryers and line filters
- Design, installation and commissioning, wiring, electronic control and automation — SIEMENS PLC 1500
Why three different compressor sizes
This is a cascade scheme. The EKO200 machines cover the base load, the EKO45 units the intermediate step, and the inverter-driven EKO30 DVST trims the fluctuating peak. As a result the system produces only as much air as is needed at any moment and avoids the idle running of a single large machine.
Why boosters
Some processes in aerospace manufacturing require pressure above the standard 7 to 8 bar. Building the entire system for high pressure would be needlessly expensive. A booster solves the problem locally: it raises pressure only for the flow that needs it, while the rest of the plant runs at normal, economical pressure.
Why SIEMENS PLC 1500
Eight compressors, three nitrogen generators and four boosters cannot be managed by hand. PLC-based control distributes the load between machines, evens out running hours and therefore wear, and makes scheduled service predictable.
The result
The plant received a complete, automated compressed air and nitrogen infrastructure, from design through to commissioning, from a single contractor.
