Installation of Nitrogen Generator at the Georgian National Center of High Technologies

IESco has implemented another successful project at the Georgian National Center for High Technologies. A nitrogen generator has been put into operation, which includes:

EKOMAK screw air compressor (Atlas Copco multibrand)

CALYPSO air dryer with appropriate filtration

INMATEC Nitrogen Generator, Germany

Nitrogen purity – 99.99%

At Georgia’s National Centre for High Technologies, nitrogen is needed for research and technological processes. Requirements in a laboratory and high-technology environment differ from those in manufacturing: purity is higher and stability matters more than volume.

The solution

  • Nitrogen generator — INMATEC (Germany) · nitrogen purity 99.99%
  • Screw air compressor — EKOMAK (Atlas Copco multibrand)
  • Air dryer — CALYPSO, with matching filtration

Why 99.99%, and what purity costs

In PSA technology, purity and flow work against each other: the cleaner the nitrogen you need, the more compressed air you must pass through the zeolite. Moving from 99.5% to 99.99% roughly doubles the air consumption.

This is why purity is chosen to match the process rather than set to maximum. A winery is well served by 99.5%, while laboratory and technological tasks call for 99.99%. This project is the second case, so the compressor and dryer are sized accordingly.

The result

The centre has its own source of 99.99% purity nitrogen, independent of cylinder deliveries, cylinder storage and variations in gas quality.
