The challenge
In the continuation of our work with GRC the task was more specific: the cellar needed a compact nitrogen source that would fit the existing space and cover tank blanketing and line purging on a constant schedule.
The solution

- Air receivers — 2,000 litres
Why a mini-generator
The most common mistake in selecting a nitrogen generator is taking too large a model. It costs more, demands more compressed air and runs inefficiently at partial load. The correct approach is to size the generator for average demand and let a receiver cover the peak.
This is exactly why the 2,000 litre air receiver is as important a part of this project as the generator itself: it gives the system reserve, reduces the compressor’s start-stop cycles and holds pressure steady during bottling.
The CALYPSO refrigerant dryer brings the air down to a +3 °C dew point, the standard and economical level for protecting a PSA generator.
The result
The cellar received a compact, fully automatic nitrogen system that no longer depends on cylinder delivery schedules.
